The Highbury School project saw Amiri working with Portsmouth City Council to achieve their desire to see an prefabricated solution to their building needs in order to minimise the impact of construction works on site. The scheme provided a new Early Years Centre on the Highbury campus. Offering two reception year classrooms, two nursery classrooms as well as a baby centre, sleep room, secure reception area as well as extensive external works including soft surface play area and a decking area the building appeared on an area of the playing field and was watertight in the two weeks of the Easter holiday. The subsequent works were predominantly internal and quiet, minimising disturbance and disruption to the school for the one term that we were on site. The completed building was opened by the Lord Mayor of Portsmouth in the September of 2014, shortly after its occupation.
