The project comprises of two phases: the first to refurbish some office space in Constitution Hill Road, Poole in order to provide a temporary home for the hospice whilst construction work on the main project, the second phase, followed. The main phase of the work provides a new 15 bed hospice on the spectacular Crichel Mount site, overlooking Poole Harbour. This spectacular new building offers respite, rehabilitation and end of life beds for people coping with life threatening illnesses and their families.

The design allowed all the bedrooms to enjoy the secluded central courtyard with the views over Poole Harbour. Whilst the rooms are en-suite there are also additional bathrooms with specialist equipment to cope with the less able patients. Nurses call stations, a reception area and visitors room are also at this level. The first floor provides treatment rooms, kitchen, activity rooms, staff rooms, visitors rooms and the late addition of rooms into the roof space allowed the administration offices of the Lewis-Manning charity to move into the building.
